2000-05-09 00:00:00 36 -Today was interesting. I got to check out from school for a while to go to the Lion's club meeting. They gave out four $500 scholarships and I got one. The one I got was the Bobby Irby memorial scholarship. The other three went to people from ACCS. Michelle Fisher, Nathan Redfield, and Lorrie Fuller got them. -Tonight we got to go to the band banquet. Mr Buckley made a really big deal about me missing my star student banquet to go on the Orlando trip and gave me the merit award for outstanding leadership. I also got little certificates for going to CoLin Honor band and for being a senior. Leighton (we call him Big L sometimes) is the guy that I started out playing trumpet with way back when I was in the sixth grade. I have always been second to him (except one time I beat him at honor band) but we have always gotten along and played neat duets and things. He got the big John Phillips Sousa award. I am really glad that he got it because he really deserved it.
2000-05-08 00:00:00 35 -Tonight was the the awards program at NHS. I got a full scholarship to CoLin (whoo hoo), got the AP Bio award, and was recognized for being the Star Student and being National Merit. -David my genius brother has proven his intelligence once again. He was helping clean out the pool where he is going to work this summer and when he was climbing up the hill between the deep and the shallow he fell and slid on his face all the way down. He nearly demolished his glasses and worst of all he lost about half of one off his front teeth. Well he went to the dentist today and doesn't look like a vampire anymore.
2000-05-07 00:00:00 34 -Prom was last night. I took Erin Smith (that's right, I am already into college women, even 17 year old ones from CoLin). She was most beautiful of course and I hope to soon have the pictures scanned and on the net. We had loads of fun.
2000-05-02 00:00:00 33 -Today wasn't much fun because I had to spend 3 periods taking tests for drafting. The reading section started off easy with passages like: Green pants are $9.99 and questions like: How much are green pants? But then it got into one really hard part that had technical fiber optic data and asked complicated questions about ordering stuff. That was bad, but I think I did OK overall. -Hehe, ole billy boy isn't the richest anymore. -Yesterday was a great day at school. In the morning one girl went into labor (she was 7 months pregnant) and another tried to overdose and commit suicide. So most of the cops in Natchez had to come for that. Then at lunch there was a great orange war outside because everyone got bag lunches with oranges because the cafeteria is under construction.
2000-04-27 00:00:00 32 -I am going to change the color of this text from #006088 to #0060aa. Maybe it will be a little brighter. -I got another scholarship last Friday, an $800 per year band scholarship. So that puts me up to $41,300 over four years if I only do band my freshman year. -This weekend was pretty good. I went to Bogue Chitto with the Boy Scouts, there were four leaders (including me) and only five boys. We had a great canoe trip Saturday morning and everything worked out out good. -Made the Democrat again in a little section about the public schools. April Patton and I are described as "honor students" and there is a little article about us.
2000-04-27 00:00:00 31 -I was sorta on the front page of the Democrat today. You can see it here. I am in the middle of the pic, just to the right of the gypsy looking girl. Derrick irick is to the left of me (dressed like a Scottsman with a plaid thing on his shoulder), Melissa Phillips is in the bluish shirt to the right, and Lisa Lambert is to the far right in the white shirt. -I did another rendering of the kitchen. Here it is.
2000-04-26 00:00:00 30 -Last night the mayor and the board of aldermen awarded me a PROUD award at the board meeting. There is a little mention of me here. -We finally got the chem compititon results back. Ajani, (I think thats spelled right) a mere 10th grader, is the only one from here that beat me. He only beat me by 2 points so it isn't too bad. Everybody did fairly well. I scored a 26 and even Brumfield had a 22. Just as long as Mrs. McMullen gives me some bonus points, I'll be happy.
2000-04-25 00:00:00 29 -Just did a little ttle rendering of the kitchen that I have been working on in drafting. It really looks like crap though. Here it is, the kitchen.
2010-05-09 20:00:00 28 -I got a bad letter today. I am an alternate for the wal-mart scholarship. I had hoped that I would win it. Oh well, I guess I will just have to be happy with my $40,000.
2000-04-19 00:00:00 27 -In drafting i have been working on an interior for the proposed ACCS weighACCS weightroom. You can see what it looks like Here. But be warned, I think this jpg is about 700K, it is full size at about 17 inches by 20 something.
2000-04-18 00:00:00 26 -I got another scholarship from the Lions Club in Natchez. It is the Bobby Irby Memorial Scholarship and is for a whole $500, $250 both semesters. Not much but at least it will cover two months of my apartment rent.
2000-04-17 00:00:00 25 -Ok it has been a while since I updated this so I will start working better now. -Last night I got back from a band trip to Orlando. The trip was great. We left last Wednesday night and rode on a bus all night to get to Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay. One of the busses broke down on the way down there so everyone had to cram on two busses. Busch Gardens was great, rode a lot of coasters and things that get you wet. Then Friday morning we did a parade compitition through Universal Studios and sppent the rest of the day in Islands of Adventure with the Georgia people. On Saturday morning we played a concert at some high school, the drumline did an indoor show, and the flags did their thing, then we spent the rest of the day in Universal Studios where we met up with the Georgia people again. That afternoon we got our awards. I don't know what all of them are for but we got 6 big trophies and won the overall award. Then we spent all day Sunday riding back to Natchez. Loads of fun.
2000-04-06 00:00:00 24 -Did you fill out your census? Read this.
2000-04-04 00:00:00 23 -I made a winamp skin, still need to work on it a little, here it is bluewinampskin.zip . -Found my dream computer, it is a Sun Enterprise 6500 Server and is at the low price of $668,895.00
2000-03-31 00:00:00 22 -The chem comp was ok. I just want to see my scores now. -I found a I found a funny site that descibes someones attempt at overclocking a 486 to over 200mHz at http://totl.net/Eunuch/index.html.
2000-03-29 00:00:00 21 -Tomorrow I get to go to Millsaps to a chem compitition. I have absolutely no chance at placing because I have not had a real chem class since 10th grade. -I took a screenshot of my beautiful enlightenment and I just put it up. It's here. -There is a very gooy good reason to use linux. See her here.
2000-03-24 00:00:00 20 -Got my report card yesterday. I had a B in gov and another in english.
2000-03-23 00:00:00 19 -I went to the camporee this past weekend. There were lots of people there because it was for the entire council. Saturday night I got to dress in regalia for the OA and we did two tap out ceremonies. The first went pretty well but it rained hard all through the second one. I did get the bonfireonfire to light with my torch but it was still pretty cold standing out in the rain. One guy had a red roach on and the dye ran all over him. I had on one of Mark Mason's head dresses and it survived the rain fairly well. -I just took Brumfield to good ole Meadville to get his license back. We were going to look for tuxs for prom but him and his mom have just gotten really sick with some nasty virus. I just hope that I do not get it.
2000-03-21 00:00:00 18 -Ok it has been a while since I e I updated this because redrival's file manager was down for a few days. -I just got back from MSU. I cleped out of 4 hours of German but I failed the C++ exam by 5 points. Sesti came within 3 points of getting 8 hours of spanish. He was pissed. I got to see several of my MSMS people because MSU has got to be the official MSMS university. -I am ready to graduate. There are 7.5 weeks of school left for me. Graduation is May 19. Prom is May 6 and I am taking the most illustrious Erin K Smith.
2000-03-13 00:00:00 17 -I found a great website today that is really funny. It is http://www.mslinux.org. -Yesterday I finally got my new HD to work like I want it to. I made 2 2GB partitions and a 10.something GB partition on it. Then I mounted one of the 2 GB as /usr and the other as /home after copying all of the files across from my old HD. Linux really takes advantage of this HD's speed and it is amazing how fast enlightenment, gnome, and XFree86 start now. -Spring break ended today. Darn. I am ready to graduate.
2000-03-11 00:00:00 16 -Today I took Red Cross professional CPR course and passed. So I am certified ied for another year. So if you are around me you should feel safe. -Yesterday me, David, Renee, and Tiffany went to Clark Creek and saw the waterfalls. We were headed out just as the bad weather started.
2000-03-07 00:00:00 15 -I worked today at the golf course for 8 hours. I mowed the greens, changed the holes, raked the traps, and learned to drive a tractor. Now all I want to do is go to sleep.
2000-03-06 00:00:00 14 -I am still working on getting the hard drive partitioned the wd the way I want it.
2000-03-04 00:00:00 13 -I went to Baton Rouge today to a Mardi Gras parade. It was great, if New Orleans parades are more lewd than that one they must be pretty good. I guess Mardi Gras is really a beer and tits festival down there where the balloon races up here can be called a beer and ass festival according to the ilustrious Chris Brumfield. -After the parade I bought a Western Digital 15.3 gb hard drive and a Microsoft natural keyboard and a wheel mouse.
2000-03-02 00:00:00 12 -This week has been loads of fun, I have 3 LeBlanc European essays due tomorrow as an exam and I have had to officiate OA elections every night this week. Well none of my other exams are hard so it is not too bad. -I got the HP plotter to work on the network in drafting. It took me an hour to do because I did not realize that I was missing a CD that has the software that autodetects network printers. Mr Parsons is counting this as my 9 weeks test.
2000-02-23 00:00:00 11 -There is a article in the Natchez Democrat about me today. If this link works, you can find the story here.
2000-02-21 00:00:00 10 -I finally got my computer to run X with a 1024x768 resolution clearly. It has been at 1024x768 for a while but it looked like crud because there was a lot of noise being displayed. First I derived the dot clock for my vid card anrd and then made up some horizontal and vertical line lengths. After some manipulation I got something that works with absolutely no video noise or drawing errors. Eventually I am going to put up my new XF86Config in my linux section so all of my fellow HP POS users can see it.
2000-02-18 00:00:00 9 -Yesterday Mrs Jones got back my real scores from the Math and Science compitition at MC. Being a moron I had filled in the bubble for the chem test on my bio test. Luckily the people rescored my my test with the bio key and I got 74/100 instead of 11/100. That puts me in the upper 1% and earns a $2000 scholarship to MC if I major in biology (ewwww).
2000-02-16 00:00:00 8 -I got another scholarship. Info about it is at MS State's web page.
2000-02-11 00:00:00 7 -My truck would not start yesterday so I got to drive the wonderful Jeep to school. Luckily the truck problem was traced to corrosion on the ba the battery terminals and everything worked very well this morning.
