| 2004-04-28 10:36:45 336 It was a week. The fun really started Wednesday night / Thursday morning was the Relay for Life and Lambda Phi actually made a rather large showing. Then Friday I had to work hard at Brewski's to supply Starville with crawfish and beer. After work we had a nice time out at Anthony's. On Saturday I had the bright idea of riding my bike early in the morning. After exausting myself, I got to sit around until about 3 when Emily got off from Old Venice. Then she made a mad dash to get ready for formal while I loaded the car. The original plan was to leave from Stephanie's at 4:30 and follow Tony down. At 4:35 I told Emily that we were leaving without them. Of course by then she remembered something that she had left so we were on the way for real at about 4:50. After getting into Philadelphia, I called Stefan and they were still waiting on the girls before they could leave. Emily and I ate at Hard Rock and we had the most fried waiter ever. He was still a good server somehow. We had to hurry and leave to make it to the casino to meet Tommy. Lovely Emily gave me front door service so I did not even have to park the car. The room we had was smaller than I had imagined but it was still plenty big enough for us. Everyone posed for the photographer and got that taken care of but the DJ was still not there. The DJ finally showed up more than an hour late and then took a while to get set up, but after he started playing everything was nice. At 11 we were supposed to be out of the room, but we actually made it out at around 11:30 or so. Most everyone who was still there went across the street to the Golden Moon. I got to see firsthand the kind of indecisiveness put on by Stefan's dates that kept wasting time as we spent nearly 30 minutes just trying to figure out what everyone was going to do. I was a lucky enough boy to turn a couple dollars into $100 on a slot machine and then used that to play blackjack for a while. Stefan sat in the same seat at a blackjack table for more than three hours without moving. We had loads of fun with these drunk guys from Arkansas who were blowing tons of money. Of course when we decided to leave, the girls were not where they should have been and it took almost another hour to get them out to the car. So it ended up being a good formal, but back in Starkville on Sunday we had even more responsibilities. Had to meet to practice, then we went to Starkville Manor and sang to the people. Some of them enjoyed it a lot where I really doubt most of them knew we were even there. After that we made a trip to Ruby Tuesday's which was shortly followed by the EC meeting and then a whole night of Phi Mu Alpha fun. So all in all it was a wonderful week/end. But of course there are pictures. However Emily's laptop was forgotten at her apartment so those are not here now, and Muncie finally decides to make me a cd of pictures and the thing is almost completely corrupted. | 2004-04-19 08:15:20 335 Kill Bill Vol. 2 is awesome. Compared to the first it is way funnier and the gross violence is not quite as extreme. |
2004-04-16 11:25:22 334 The poor Camry died last Wednesday. Luckily it turned out that my distributor cap had an enormous crack in it that had possibly set up some sort of backlash of current and fried the ignition coil too. So Emily's dad helped me fix it all, and luckily we were able to find a replacement coil at a junkyard on Easter Sunday. Super Bulldog Weekend is upon us. Brewski's sucked yesterday with everyone in town buying a keg and a ton of crawfish. Poor Brian had to move 4000 pounds of crawfish off of the truck by himself. As fast as he could cook it, people were buying it. Both keg guys brought in more kegs. Lucky for me, some guys brought in a Bud Light keg a week late that was still half full. So it is setting at Sesti's waiting on Saturday. Last night Emily and I went down on University where a couple bands were playing. It did not seem to be quite as packed as it was at Bulldog Bash. Poor me has to close Brewski's tonight so I'll get my fill of beligerent drunks wanting crawfish. But for Saturday, there is no work, so it's on.

2004-04-07 23:49:16 332 Earthlink is retarded in their new commercial. In it a bumbling "handyman husband" is failing at some basic yard work. One of the things he tries to do is kill what is obviously a hornets nest by spraying it with water. Of course it does no good and the hornets swarm him. Luckily his wife (who is inside enjoying the sweet sweet air conditioning) has enrolled them in Earthlink Accelerator and can look up treatment of bee stings. Bee stings! He was being chased by hornets! Of course any good Boy Scout knows that the treatment is basically the same except for one big important issue; bee stingers are barbed and remain in the wound while hornets have smooth stingers and can sting multiple times. This may sound like a minor detail, but imagine this enlightened wife starting to perform surgery on her poor poor husband trying to locate a stinger that doest not exist.

2004-03-25 18:46:08 326 So the pictures from Atlanta and Orlando are up. Sad to say that they are not the usual super quality that I normal have, but at least they will load faster. Friday afternoon: The game was wonderful. Of course winning is generally fun. Friday night: Stefan and I ate at Gino's, a pizza place down the block from the hotel. It would not be surprising to know that it is a front for the Mafia, but the pizza was so good it made up for it. After a while we went to Mako's down the other street and stayed until... Saturday morning: Got back to the room and everyone went to sleep for a long time. For lunch Tim, Stefan, and I went to Kate O'Brians that was a wannabe Irish pub. The main deciding factor on that one was that they have an enormous TV that had basketball on. Saturday afternoon: Played a pep rally for alumni at another place a couple blocks from the hotel. No one was happy about it until they told us that there was an open tab for the band and cheerleaders to get soft drinks and food. Red Bull's taste so good when they are free and so does cheesecake. Saturday night: The band ran a bus to Downtown Disney so I went back down there. Was nice to just walk around for a while. I got a load of pictures then too. Picked up a magnet for Emily and a cd from the Virgin Megastore. The bus left at 8:30 back to the hotel. When we got back we all went to Friday's and the single boys hit on the waitress. Muncie and I got Tommy and Wilson to go with us to Mako's for a while. Muncie had a wonderful time. We got out of there after a while and went back toward the hotel but stopped at the grassy knoll and called the girls back home. Bill threw rocks from across the way and nearly killed us. Sunday morning: Got up ready to see us beat the crap out of Xavier. Loaded the bus and was at the arena almost two hours before the game. Was not much to do but taunt the players. Most of the first half ended up being ok but then it started to suck. And then the second have was even worse. So we got back on the bus and to the hotel. Brad, Bill, and I ate at Gino's one more time for the experience and then went on a walking tour. Walked to Lake Eola and most of the way around it. Sad sad that I did not carry my camera. We found the most yuppie grocery store ever and I bought a designer bottle of water from Norway. Emily and I cracked that one open the other night and it really is the cleanest tasting water I have ever tried. Even better than Kingston water. So we killed a few more hours in the hotel, loaded the bus for the airport, got ran through security again, caught the train to the other end of the airport, boarded the plane, and rode our merry selves back to Starvegas. Of course it would be 80 in Orlando and 40 here when we got off of the plane. After a shuttle ride back to the band hall, we still had to wait almost an hour for our luggage to make it. And to top it all off, Stefan and I had an interesting ride home. All in all it was a good trip. Downtown Orlando is like a clean version of New Orleans as if the little Disney fairies come out every morning and pressure was everything so it is pure for the next day.
2004-03-19 15:00:23 325 So what am I going to do, hold onto her scalp?
2004-03-19 14:29:59 324 Actually I had a great time with Bill last week in Atlanta.
2004-03-19 01:04:10 323 Last night: Green beer. That Muncie puked. In front of two random girls who went "ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww." This morning: Ate pizza with Tim at 10. Ate pizza and drank beer with everyone else at 11:30. Caught the bus to Downtown Disney. This afternoon: Bought tickets for Grandaddy and Saves the Who? Checked out a big Virgin mega store. Walked around aimlessly. Decided that the ESPN zone would be more fun to be at so we spent another 30 minutes on a bus getting there. Later this afternoon: Stefan tried to pick up girls who would be considered underage even in Arkansas. We ate five pounds of chicken wings and drank a gallon of non-alcoholic beer while watching basketball. Duke sucks. Dook does too. Then we rode a bus back to the House of Blues. Early evening: Stefan, B-rad, and I made it to the concert and diverged of our metal possessions before we entered the venue. It rocked. One of the opening bands played a cover of the Pixie's "Where is My Mind." Grandaddy rocked hard. Saves the Day was awesome according to Stefan but I was not impressed by their girly Hanson act. Turns out that the whole time we were there, we were sitting next to Beth from MSMS, and some other MSU chick who's name is currently unknown. Poor Stefan for being forgetful of names. Late evening: We left the House of Blues and caught the Disney bus back to the ticket place that is usually bus central. Turns out that our bus had stopped running two hours before. So luckily there was a cab and we caught it. It cost a ton but we made it back without being molested by any homeless people. Random thoughts: Where is your wristband at? -- Tommy Smiley made big poo. -- Muncie Saves the Day is awesome. -- Stefan The old guy dancing at TGI Friday's was funny. -- Muncie (seconded by Jim) Saves the Who? -- Everyone Ewwwwwwwwwwww. -- two random girls on Orange Ave Cow and horse on a date. I don't know how the rest of it goes but your mother is a whore. -- Tommy Henry (Ghengis) Why am I holding my ankles again? -- Tommy's sister
2004-03-18 08:25:23 322 Orlando is great so far. We are staying in the Westin Grand Bohemian and everything is super nice. Yesterday was St. Patrick's and all of these people think they are Irish so a block away from the hotel it was like Mardi Gras but in green.
2004-03-15 10:19:00 321 So there was this thing called the SEC tournament and we came back after day one. At least we had a few hours to walk around Atlanta before the game. Did not see too much though because that whole second game thing was pretty much planned on. Oh well. Stefan and I caught a ride with Bill and had a wonderful time. Turns out that the NCAA bracket would have us back in Atlanta for Sweet 16 so maybe I will get to see the Coke musuem anyway.

2004-03-03 20:47:13 319 Last night's game was so sweet. It was more of a "lets see how many points we can get" offense spree with little to no defense at times. Of course that was not a bad thing because MSU was making almost all of their shots. Every player on the roster must have gotten at least two minutes of playing time. For what must have been the first time in Humphrey's history, 90% of the fans were there for last minutes of the game and even stayed as the team cut the nets down. The best part was Marcus Campbell cutting down the net from the floor without the ladder. When the mass of people went for the second net, Mrs Lance got the band out early; another first because we usually have to stick around until we are the only fools left in the place caring that Hail State is being played.
2004-03-02 09:35:26 318 Going to the men's tourneys! Yay! Get to watch Auburn lose tonight! Yay!
2004-02-26 10:43:47 317 Beat LSU's ass!!! Yay!! Last week Sesti and I "fixed" the unlock button on the driver's side of my car. Turns out that the switch was not bad, the wire was. So we ran a new wire. It does not look completely ghetto; and most importantly, it works. On Sunday Emily and I wanted to go do something. Was on the way to the movies when we decided it was nice enough to go to Noxubee. We found better shoes and went down to the wilderness trail off of 25. At first everything was good, the trail was a little moist, but not bad. Then it turned into a full fledged swamp. We worked so hard to keep out of the deep mud and to at least try to keep our socks dry. Eventually we made it to this place that was slippery along with being very muddy. Poor Emily ended up digging the trail back out with her behind. So for the rest of the walk she was putting mud on me and we were plowing through the deepest of water. It took us almost 2.5 hours to make a 3.4 mile loop.

2004-02-11 14:49:12 315 The weekend was great. On Friday I drove Emily to Columbus and she got her makeup done. We left about noon and made decent time all of the way down. Met up with Nicole at her house and crossed back over the bay into Mobile. We hung out for a while at Nicole's aunt's hotel room and then went down to the parade. The floats seemed to be better this year and Emily got pictures of most of them. Her poor face seemed to attract beads and other projectiles like nothing else. After the parade we went back to the hotel and changed. Then we waited on the girls to get ready. Then we waited some more. Finally we headed over to the civic center and the poor girls all almost froze even though it was not more than 200 yards to walk. The ball was loads of fun. Chris finally made it in several hours later so he did not miss out on everything. At some point we left, changed back at the hotel, and headed to Nicole's. On Saturday afternoon Emily and I went to Gulfport and met up with her friend Kathy. They dropped me off at Chili's so I could watch the MSU/OM game and they could shop. After a while they came back and ate. Later we went to the Brewpub on the Beau and it was super packed. Then Emily and I went to the Imperial Palace and played blackjack for a while until I was ahead a bit and she was down. On Sunday morning I played until I was down a bit and we decided to head home. But before we left, I wanted to play at least $10 in a slot machine. So I did, and started winning. So we stuck around for a while and when I got way ahead, I cashed out and we headed back to Starkvegas.

2004-02-02 17:20:30 312 The weekend was loads of fun. I closed Brewski's Friday night. Went to Maben Saturday morning with Emily so her dad could paint the front of her car where she scraped the paint off on another car. Closed Coconut's Saturday night. Superbowled most of Sunday with the largest "TV" ever. At least a 10' diagonal, maybe more from an "acquired" projector onto the wall.
