Pictures of Disney are up too and this is not even all of the digital ones. There were many disposable cameras used too.

We left out around 6 AM and all of us slept pretty much through Alabama. Well we finally got to Orlando, and had a little bit of difficulty trying to find the condo but we made it.

Every morning we tried to be at the parks as they opened and would stay until close. We did the Magic Kindom the first day, Epcot the second, Animal Kingdom until it closed and then back to Epcot on Christmas day, and on the fourth day we did MGM until the light show, then over to Epcot, then to the Magic Kingdom to catch the fireworks again. Then on Friday we knocked out Universal and Islands of Adventure.

I am sad now because I do not want to be working all week.

Fixed the tag board. It had a permissions problem. I am not planning on fixing speech on Bill for a while though.

The drama gets deeper and deeper and is approaching on multiple fronts.

Watched Battle Royale today. It is just a little disturbing. Sadly it has no entry on IMDB, but apparently Battle Royale II came out this year.

Had a very interesting piece of reading tonight. But I cannot talk about it. But maybe I will. But not yet.

So the website has been down for a week or so. Poor Bill was having this problem with locking up and I had not had a chance to check him out. I was blaming the lockups on the hard drive locking up based on the kernel error messages being generated. However after some experimentation today, I have determined that it was the IDE-66 cable that I have had since '99 or so. Replaced it with a normal IDE cable and Bill has been running just peachy for a couple hours now and hopefully will keep it up.

Last weekend was the Arkansas trip. Left Friday morning and stopped in Southaven for lunch. Chris and I realized that Wilson was going to be going all of the way in his car, so we rode with him the rest of the way up. Someone in their great wisdom had arranged for three rooms on the first floor of the hotel, one for Mr Aarhus, one for the bus driver, and one for Chris, Wilson, and me. Eventually we met up with some people and went to the Wal-Mart in Bentonville because we assumed it would be super awesome because it is the home of Wal-Mart. Well it was kinda big, but other than that it was normal. So Chris had the great idea of trying to find his house. We went into some neighborhood and did not find it. Back on the main road we decided to go to Oklahoma so we stopped at a gas station and asked if we were going the right way. The woman there said we just needed to go straight on the highway we were on through Decatur. So we did, and got stopped by a train in Decatur. That is where things got messy. We kept going straight and ended up on some bad curvy county roads. I kept encouraging Wilson to go because since we were headed west, we were sure to hit Oklahoma eventually. Anyway we finally made it to the "Welcome to Oklahoma" sign and took pictures. So we figured we would go up to Missouri. Made it there on some curvy assed roads and thats where things got really strange. I swear the roads were corkscrewing around hills in both directions. At some point we were driving on the side of a mountain with this neato looking rock ledge hanging above us. Anyway we made it back to the hotel after a while.

The game on Saturday sucked. The stadium was really pretty though, and they had a Jumbotron the width of the endzone. The fans were all nice because they knew they were going to kick our asses.

Sometime during the week poor poor Emily had a small wreck in her car. Scratched the other cars bumper while buckling her hood. It sure looked pretty for her to drive from Birminham home with it like that. Her dad messed with it until it is pretty much straightened out again and looks ok except for the scraped off paint.

Thanksgiving was loads of fun. Started off Wednesday night by taking Emily to the annual pre-Thanksgiving feast at Hawkin's. Then on Thanksgiving day, we had band practice and then ate more food at the Perry. I got to meet Tony's parents and his dad is an interesting guy. He blamed all of us for Tony's grades. It was raining when it was time to march into the stadium so we had the raincoats on. But it stopped before pregame so we took them off. Of course when we marched on the field, the monsoon came down and about blew us off of the field. It never really slacked off until the very end of the game by the time we were completely soaked. I was really proud of Emily because she managed to make it until halftime even though she was freezing. She was awesome, came to every home game this year, stayed to the end in all but two, and sat close to me at almost every one.

Yesterday was the Starkville Christmas parade. It was colder than I expected so it was not completely fun. Afterward I went with the pep band to the MSU/McNeese State game that was kinda boring because we beat them so bad.

Students and Staff of Simrall Hall:

The fire alarm system in our building is being upgraded today and tomorrow (Wednesday and Thursday 10/29 and 10/30). There will be periods of time when the alarms are not connected. This means you will need to be more vigilant than usual. If you spot a fire in our building in these two days, do the following.

1. pull the fire alarm (it may ring bells; it may not)
2. call 9-1-1 and report it
3. notify everyone in the building (go to every floor, knock on every door, and announce the fire and ask them to evacuate the building)
4. get to safety, but wait for emergency vehicles to arrive
5. inform emergency personnel of the location of the fire

Thank you for sharing the burden of safety,
Bill Chapman

Step 3 seems like it would result in too much death.

Birmingham was fun. The Sloss Fright Furnace was awesome. They scared poor Emily so much especially with all of the chainsaws. There were so many little steel walkways and stuff that was really disorienting. The thing I liked best was these two places where a catwalk ran about 25 feet though an enormous rotating drum. About halfway though you felt like the world was spinning and would be leaning hard into the side of the catwalk.

Yay, Birmingham in 24 hours!

Today's phrase is "cathodic worship."

2003-10-22 14:29:44 283

Yay, since things are fixed I can write again.

This past weekend I made the trip to Natchez to go to the balloon races. I met Emily in Meridian and took the scenic route home down the Trace. We got downtown just in time to meet David and Misty to see the fireworks. Saturday morning I got my required haircut and then we went to the flea market in Vidalia. After a while we made it to Rosalie and it was freaking $15 to get in. Cowboy Mouth was worth it though to get to see them for the fourth time. Later we went and ate Mexican of course. Emily and I went shopping at Northpark on the way back through Jackson on Sunday. It was so much fun. At least this weekend I get to go to B'ham and see her there.

It was not my fault anyway. Seems that since PHP 4.2.0 register_globals was set to off. Turning it on fixed the navigation links at least. One line in one file. Wheeee.

2003-10-22 13:42:53 281

So I think things are fixed now. Maybe. For some reason this version will not take a form variable named something like "address" and let you reference it as "$address" No that must be too easy, the only way for it to work now is to use $HTTP_POST_VARS[address] which is loads of fun. Basically that means that my submission page is now fixed, but the main index's navigation at the bottom is still nonfunctional.

Wheee. Was a good weekend. Emily made it to Starkvegas after I was done with band. We made the big trip to Sesti's and had a fun time. I picked up Sesti drove to the game on Saturday morning. Emily and Nicole made it in sometime during pregame and sat next to me again. She is so great; neve had a girl come to the games and sit close to their band dork boyfriend. They stayed until after halftime then left because they could not take the heat. The game was nice because we won. It had been more than a year since they won (at Memphis) and they had not beaten a SEC team since the 2001 Egg Bowl. That night Nathan went with Emily and me to the Hat and we watched drunk sorostitutes sing karaoke. Met up with Berryhill and went to the Hunt Club to use our *free* Blues Traveler tickets. I think Berryhill and I had a better time listening to the band than they did. All I wanted to hear was Hook and I did and it was awesome. We played some pool and left right as they finished playing. Went to just make an appearance at Roger's but there were actually a lot of people so we stayed for a while. Twas a little bit of drama but nothing too terribly bad or unexpected except that Roger is an asshole. On Sunday morning Emily and I went to church and then ate Mexican again. Then she had to go and I was sad. But it is not too bad because she will be back this weekend. Too bad my parents decided not to come see a football game because this would have been a good one to see except that halftime would have sucked because of the stupid homecoming stuff we have to do.

2003-10-02 02:23:30 278

Yay. Last night I was at Brewski's listening to the radio and I won tickets from 91.1 to see Blues Traveler at the Hunt Club by knowing what track 8 on Radiohead's OK Computer is. I was not 100% sure but took a guess of Electioneering and got it. Tonight I was at Coconut's and the "after SST chick" gave a set to the first caller. I was the first caller. She called back after about thirty minutes and said I could not win twice so I was really sad. Anyway the guy I won them from the other night came on at 10 and said something about "Jim Sesser should not call in again because he already has tickets." Well then "Emily's cousin Nathan" called in and correctly answered a question about which album Stone Temple Pilot's song Plush is on (it is Core). So now several of us get to go. Yay, wonderful good free times.

Had a nice weekend. Emily got here Friday afternoon and went out with Hannah and Nathan while we were at band. Made it downtown to Bulldog Bash after a while. Had to park way behind Coconut's and walk to University where the main stage was set up in front of Roger's apartment. It was loads of fun. Got to see Emily try out a mechanical bull, but she did not do too well. Edwin McCain finally came on but by then we were tired and left before too long. Of course there was the usual drama going on.

On Saturday Emily and I went out to Mathiston to her house wwhere her parents had gotten pretty much everything moved out. We made a trip to the new house and carried just a little bit of stuff because her Mr Joe had pretty much taken care of everything else. Eventually we got back to Starkvegas and got ready for the game. On the way to campus some LSU fans had "0-4" signs. Sadly we just agreed. Emily and Nicole sat with the "Sinfonian Alumni Section" (tm), that part of the student section across the aisle from the trumpet section. The game started out like we had a chance after not much time, there was no hope in winning. We still had a good time though. The paper bag masks have already made a comeback. At least one did anyway. At least there is basketball to look forward too. We made it out of this game way faster than the last one. I am not sure if it was because the stadium was almost empty at the end of the third quarter, or that we looped back through campus to get to Blackjack quicker. Then there was a get together at Muncie's which was pretty fun and it seemed like Emily had a wonderful time. Of course the drama continued. That was to be expected anyway.

On Sunday we did not make it to church because Emily did not set her alarm either. We went out to Mathiston to see her parents, leaving without my cellphone (that works out there) and her dead cellphone (that only works to the edge of Starkville). We went out their new place and went exploring. Found a treestand and some nice places to hunt. Even saw two deer on the way in. It was wonderful. I got the grand tour of the Maben/Mathiston metropolitan area and we stopped by to see on of Emily's old friends. We came back to Starkville and just missed Emily's parents who had been in Columbus all day. Ate some Mexican at the new place and then it was time for the EC meeting and Emily to go back to B'ham. We were sad because the day had been so great. At least she will be coming back this weekend too.

I was in the top 16 of a class of ~75 in my Sociology class on our test from last week. After the extra credit I will have an A on it which is so sweet.
